Dressing tools condition grinding wheels for reproducible results: Profile geometry, cutting ability, pore pattern and thermal stability. The decisive factor is the system: geometrically defined cutting edge (e.g. single grain/MKD) for defined contours versus geometrically undefined cutting edge (e.g. multi-grain/scattered) for robust surface and structural work.
